On December 3rd the International Day of persons with disabilities is celebrated around the world to call for an inclusive development that leaves no one behind!
When providing access to education, taking into account the needs of disadvantaged groups is of utmost importance so every child can take part in learning!
HOPE’87 has implemented an education project in Burkina Faso and Mali that has recently come to an end with the aim to promote basic education to every child. HOPE’87 has attached particular importance to enforcing access to project facilities for girls and boys as well as for disabled and disadvantaged young people in equal measure, in order to counteract structural disadvantages already in childhood and adolescence and to broaden the scope of action.
One of the achievements of the project was an increase in the inclusive capacity of the school infrastructure in the Koloko and Finkolo communities through building and renovating essential infrastructure, including latrines and access ramps for the disabled for the proper functioning of schools.
Thank you to the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research for the funding of this important project!
