On August 12th International Youth Day is celebrated, bringing youth issues to the attention of the international community and celebrating the potential of youth as partners in today’s global society.
HOPE’87, as an Austrian non-profit initiative for the support of youth employment and youth training projects worldwide, encourages young people to show self-initiative and to realise their own ideas of small and medium scale projects, creating training and employment possibilities for themselves and other young people. HOPE’87 therefore supports young people through project implementation, technical assistance, know-how transfer and consultancy.
In Pakistan und Burkina Faso for example, HOPE’87 implemented projects that improved access to quality education in emergencies and other situations of violence for children who were previously not able to attend school, promoting basic education that meets the essential criteria of contemporary knowledge transfer. Also in Bangladesh, HOPE’87 is providing quality formal education at primary school level to vulnerable and disadvantaged working children and children who dropped out of school so they can escape the vicious circle of poverty and illiteracy and take things into their own hands to build their lives and futures!
